Beaconsfield Theatre Group

Beaconsfield Theatre Group (BTG) is now 62 years old, having been formed in 1951. Not dissimilar to BOS, BTG has used all the same venues at some point in its history to perform in over its life. BTG initially used Burkes Hall, followed Holtspur Secondary School (now The Beacon Centre).

For many years BTG considered The Chiltern Theatre as its home, however when the council sold the building in the early 1990s, BTG became homeless and nomadic, using the stages at The Burnham Hall, The Curzon Centre and The Beaconsfield School until the Beacon Centre was completed. BTG performed their inaugural production at The Beacon Centre in November 1995 and have used that venue as its home since then for its productions.
BTG has tended to perform smaller cast straight plays, farces, dramas and kitchen sink dramas, also covering more contemporary pieces to classics and restoration theatre.
BTG generally produces three productions a year, however over the last couple of years the group has only produced two shows a year.
The slots used are November and February with a third production in May.

Rehearsals

Many years ago BTG used to use a hall at the back of The Earl of Beaconsfield - but following its demolition and building of Waitrose – has predominately used the United Reform Church hall in Holtspur. These rehearsals have been generally Tuesday and Thursday nights.
