Users and UsageThe Venue will have four resident groups, using the Venue for rehearsals and the majority of their performances (except CSC's outdoor production in June).
These groups are:
The aim would be for the resident groups to initially provide approximately 10 weeks of theatrical performances, similar to their current output.
The Venue itself would also look to provide entertainment to supplement its income and minimise the financial burden to the resident groups.
This could well take the form of a two or three week Beaconsfield Panto involving all the resident groups and be used as a membership drive for those groups.
Additional annual fundraising gala evenings in the summer would also be envisaged.
Other venues of similar size also host the following types of events.
The Venue will also look to attract other local theatrical groups to base their activities at the Venue.
They include Beaconsfield Music Society and Beaconsfield Film Society.
We would also encourage groups like U3A, the WI and other similar groups who wish to hold meetings to base their activities at the Venue.
Commercially, we will also look to market the Venue as a small conference centre and meeting location, where the combination of theatre spaces and multi-purpose meeting rooms will be available for hire.
The Venue will also aim to educate all ages in stage craft. With that aim, after school theatre clubs will be created for children from the age of 5 years and upwards to learn about acting and the technical aspects of the theatre. This will be run by suitably qualified staff, and would most likely be run under The Young Theatre banner.
Holiday workshops and summer schools could also be organised, with the income received in venue hire or attendance fees would also help to fund ongoing running costs.
As at least one of the rehearsal rooms will double as a dance studio, therefore ballet and dance lessons would become a possibility, providing extra usage and income to the Venue. An additional benefit is that those groups would most likely wish to perform in-front of friends and family, further utilising the theatre itself.
Adult dance classes would also like to use such a space and therefore provide another income stream to support the ongoing running cost of this Venue.
Parents will be encouraged to socialise in the public areas whilst their children are undertaking their activities, with this generating extra income for the Venue.
